Reasons to Love this Recipe
- Protein-packed: Helping keep little tummies fuller for longer.
- Quick & Easy: Just blend and enjoy!
- Adaptable: Mix and match the fruit, nut butters and sweeteners used.
- Versatile: Use it as a dip, spread it on toast, or make it the base for a high-protein dessert bowl with fruit and chocolate chips.
Ingredients Information (and Alternative Suggestions)
- Cottage Cheese: The main ingredient, providing creaminess and protein. Whole milk cottage cheese is recommended for little ones and also produces a richer texture but low-fat cottage cheese can also be used.
- Peanut Butter: I use natural peanut butter with a runny consistency. Different brands of peanut butter may affect the sweetness and texture of the dip, so be mindful of this. If it's too thick you can thin it out with a splash of water or milk. You can substitute with any nut butter such as cashew butter or almond butter
- Honey: For sweetness. Adjust to suit taste or replace with maple syrup or sweetener of choice. Skip if serving children under 1 (and not recommended for those under 2)
- Lemon Juice: Optional, but it adds a touch of brightness and tang to balance the richness.
- Vanilla Extract & Cinnamon: Added for flavour, can be skipped.

Step by Step Instructions (with Images)
- Add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender or food processor.
- Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides, and giving the blender a shake when needed.
Top tips
- If you find it tricky to blend, try stopping the blender to shake and scrape down the sides. You can also add a splash of water or milk to help with the blending.
- If using a large blender you may need to double the recipe.
- If you choose to use a food processor, use the smallest bowl attachment or a mini food processor.
Storage
- Refrigerate: Store in an airtight container and refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Freeze: Transfer the dip to a freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before using.
- Note: The dip might thicken after refrigeration. If needed, stir in a splash of milk or water and stir.
