Quinoa
Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah), is actually a seed but is cooked like a grain. It is nutritious, simple to cook and works well in a range of dishes.
Prepared with water alone, it can be pretty tasteless, but with a little bit of extra work you can really pump up the flavour.
The possibilities with this grain are endless. There are plenty of quinoa recipes that babies, toddlers, big kids, including picky eaters, can enjoy.
When feeding babies/toddlers, it can get a little messy (those little seeds get everywhere!) Making balls, fritters or baking it in a sticky sauce will make the clean up a little easier and will be less frustrating for baby when eating.
