Frozen yogurt drops always seem to pop up on my pinterest feed and I have always liked the idea of them but I generally don’t buy flavoured yogurt because of the added sugars / sweeteners. Natural greek yogurt is a favourite in our house and I add it to a lot of sweet and savoury dishes. I thought I’d try making a smoothie with greek yogurt and fruit and then freeze the mixture as drops.
Making smoothie drops…
I poured the smoothie mixture into a zip lock bag and then snipped the corner. I squeezed out small drops onto a silicon baking sheet.
Finn absolutely loves them and he is always asking for “drops” They melt quite quickly but Finn always manages to eat them before they thaw!
Frozen Smoothie Drops
- 1 cup Natural Yogurt
- 1 Banana
- 15 Raspberries
- Put all the ingredients into a blender and puree until smooth.
- Fill a piping bag or a zip lock bag (snipped at the corner) with the mixture
- Squeeze dots onto a baking sheet
- Place in a freezer until frozen (a couple of hours) and then empty into a zip lock bag / tub.
- Store in the freezer.
Try mixing the yogurt with different fruits to make a variety of colours and flavours.
